The Apollo Theater
Over the course of the last couple of months I have been involved in the Saturday Workshop Series at the Apollo Theater. In this program I lived out the oppurtunity to learn about different aspects of theater production. I learned everything from Carpentry to Electricity, Sound and Lights, I even learned how to box a little from the Apollo Theaters own Mr. Joe Grey. Throughout the time that I've spent there, not only have I learned educational things, I've learned that I indeed have more than one family. Every Saturday that I returned to 125th street out in Harlem I felt a sort of warmness, safety and comfort embrace me. Last Saturday, May 22nd, was my last day, and final show there. All of my peers worked along side me to create a wonderful and magical mock Amateur Night production, oh were the parents so proud! Sadly the program is over, but everything that I've learned and gained from my Saturdays there will always be kept at heart. I will miss all of my instructors and peers. My Saturdays will be forever empty without being able to wake up and learn from the Technical Crew there. I really enjoyed the time that I've spent with my Apollo family, and I do encourage all High School Students to sign up and take a shot at gaining a new family, and learning from the best!

Why do I love Central Park so much?
I completely love Central Park and often I am asked why. I love Central Park because there I can relax without worries. In Central Park I am surrounded by beauty and nature. Central Park is located in Manhatten, N.Y. so that's another reason why I love it. In Manhatten everything is alive, and it's honestly a beautiful city. Usually when I visit Central Park I cut loose and become a kid all over again, my friends and I are aloud to visit our childhood there. I think I enjoy climbing the rocks the most, however. In Central Park there are also beautiful lakes, and I've always run into nice, down to earth people there. On the way to Central Park I'm sure to always pick up a double chocolaty chip frappuccino from Starbucks Coffee, that always makes me even more excited about going to my favorite place. On nice, warm days I like to get away and go to that park because it's always bundles of fun for me. I've only actually been there approximately three or four times, and I haven't explored the entire park yet. Over the summer I plan to go more, to hang out with friends, or just to relax. P.S. the grass is appealing too!

The High School For Enterprise Business and Technologhy
Have you ever heard of the High School for Enterprise Business and Technology? Well a lot of people haven't. This school is located in Willamsberg, Brooklyn. They allow in students of all grades but unfortunately enforce a uniformed dress code. Although the dress code may not be of very much liking to any of us that attend this school, a lot of other things appeal to our likings. Here we have great opportunities and a lot of cool extra curriculum activities. The activities include dance, year book, photography, poetry, karaoke, techncial crew, and band. Here schooling is actually easy. I can learn and have fun in this environment. We also have a Cisco program which includes learning business and computers. Although that might be exciting, in school I major in Technical Theater. Technical Theater is basically theater production which is very intriging for me. The High School for Enterprise Business and Technology is in Grand Street Campus, and here in Grand Street Campus we have two other schools; Legal Studies High School and Progress High School. We intertwine some of our programs with those two schools, so in certain ways we are a big family.
